Distinctions and Differences in Last Days Minitries.
Last days minitries fall into three major divisions, Preterism, historicism and futurism. Each of the divisions have sub-divisions.
True Preterism sees the last days as past, all fulfilled in the first century. There are subdivisions within preterism such as partial-preterism. In Partial Preterism, the meaning is self-evident in that it takes only "part" of the endtime passages to be fulfilled and holds to future fulfillment on resurrection, judgment, and Parousia. For this reason it's inconsistencies are vigorously debated by full preterists and millennialists. Historicism holds that eschatology is an ongoing unfolding drama which involving current events in the world. It seeks to undertand eschatology in the light of "what's happening now, externally." The third category is futurism. In it are different forms of millennialism; premillialism, postmillennialism, amillennialism with subgroups in each categhory.
