Premillennialism

Premillennialism, historically defined teaches that the second coming will precede the millennium, --the thousand year kingdom reign. It holds to only one "second coming,". In this view, the church will go through the great tribulation as foretold in Matthew 24:21.

At the end of the great tribulation, it is believed that the Rapture will occur wherein saints will meet the Lord in the air. Immediately thereafter they return with Christ to earth for a literal thousand years reign.

This view continually changes with the "signs of the times" as each series of wars, earthquakes and pestilences in the earth depict the imminent end. Yet, it has met with embarrassing disappointment by many of it's proponents throughout history since the Rapture never occurred in connection with such events.

Premillennialism and other endtime views
